Just got back from a very windy and wet 24hrs. Me and the brother in law were on pegs 1 and 2, the lake looked great as usual despite the low water levels and it was great to be back. It was very windy, gale force at times and wet so most of the time was spent sat in the bivvies. We managed only 2 but due to the conditions i was pleased to come away with somthing. Mine came at around 2am a stunning 15lb10 common with not a mark on it, this was a bit touch and go at times as it took me round the sticky out tree but i waded out and managed to play it back round. Adams came at around 6am again another stunning 13lb8 common. This was a strange run the bite alarm bleeped only a couple of times, but adam got into it and the beast was on!. After releasing the fish back into the lake it was obvious the fish were very groggy and slow, for example i had to help mine swim away as it kept swimming back into the bank, it was very slow to go to. Likewise with the other. Just shows how the lack of oxygen must effect them. With regards the other anglers i think the lads on the dam wall managed 4 out biggest around 16lb and the others on pegs 789 only managed a tench on peg 7.
All in all it was great to get back to lake and enjoy this great venue again, Roll on summer 2010!!!
