To say I am a happy man is a major understatement, I only started carping very recently, and this was my first proper session.
So to bank 4, and loose 2 others,3 of them pb's, is a proper result.
The 3 smaller commons fell to maggots, but the 17 was on a bait my very good friend has rolled for him, so you cant actually get it in the shops, but take my word for it....its the bollocks.
If you want to see all the other fish caught over the weekend then you'll need to have a look on our forum, which gaz is a member of too, so hopefully he wont mind my putting a link for anyone. Maybe even sign up, you wont be disapointed: www.ukfishingforums.co.uk.
6 pb's,and thats just off the peg I was on.
Cheers fella's
cheers

Well back from the social at welham and it was an absolute top weekend couldn't have planned it better myself Suspect well the first day i got there i set up got all my bait out as i was egar as hell to catch my first carp of the year i was the second person to arrive Craig been the first but he arrived a day earlier, my rods were set as were my traps my tactics were simple for this weekend keeping my baits small and tight to the island well all day went by and i din't have a touch on any of my rods it wasn't until late evening and i had my first run a beatiful little fish "I THINK" it weighed 11lb's can't remember so many fish  after that i headed down towards the social area were every one met up to have some of stotty's "BOLLOX BOLOGNAISE" and a bit of a piss up ... well a lot of a piss up 16bottles of red wine and copious amounts of larger between us all everyone was bladdered some went to bed early due to been drunk  some crawled "ROB" :LMAO: and some had run's throughg the night which other members had run the full length of the lake to wake me up :LMAO: yes i had a run at 1am russ managed to run the full length of the lake to wake me but i managed to wake just in time for russ to get there i really don't reccomend anyone getting wankered and then have to play a fish not a good feeling but it weighed 9lbs then at 2am i found myself into another fish this time it weighed 15lb 5oz a cracking looking fish but as before too drunk ... drunken well saturday morning came round i was extreamly hung over so had some breakfast cup of tea and managed to sort my head out and concertrate on doing some fishing that was the plan to knuckle down and catch some carp i was in a bit of a hot spot i was catching carp left right and centre they were coming out all day for me now i can't remember the weights of all fish but my smallest was 9lbs and the biggest was 16lb's i was over the moon because Gaz at welham had got us a trophy for biggest fish and i was in the lead i really wanted this trophy it was a cracking little trophy very well presented well the "JOKERS" on the opposite bank to me managed to catch a fish and blag me by saying it was over 16lbs so i was gutted i wasn't getting the trophy well later i found out that "Tim" was telling pork pie's but sunday morning the fecker managed to pull a 17lber out and and really win the trophy wasn't too happy but glad tim had a new PB so well done Tim i had 15 carp out in total and lost 2 so i had a brilliant weekend

Thank you all who came was really good to meet new faces and catch up with some old one

here's some of the pic's i took i have more will get them on later
