well, the levels are fully up now and the water now going over the dam wall. There were only 2 anglers on this weekend with only one mid double fish caught.I think the lake will fish better next week once the lake stabilises as over a foot of fresh water coming in in a week was bound to upset the fish. This week on wednesday i have the lads from bishop burton college coming to see me to ascertain how we can help each other with the planned works The membership scheme is up and running with 4 paid up members and lots of other interest. I'll be arranging a get together in the not too distant future where people can chat to face and see my plans. Its always good to get one on one feedback on things like this so the more the merrier

well there were 3 people on at the weekend with 4 fsh out all around the 11/12lb mark.Kelly had the carp feeding of the top like he did last winter but as yet hasn't tried his hand at putting a rod in yet. The sltex is ordered and planned for the first week in January. After speaking to the suppliers we can expect a depth increase of around 6'' on the first application as we have the ideal scenario of water coming in at one end and overflowing at the other. The plans for the toilet have been finalised and this should hopefully be built before xmas. The fishing should pick up i reckon now the water levels have stabilised.I was looking at some of the catch reports from last winter and they are pretty impressive and there's no reason why they can't be repeated this year

well the lake fished poorly this weekend with no fish out at all.Surprisingly the 7 lads that were on opted not to fish 11,12 and stalking which are the hot pegs at this time of year.perhaps the conditions played a part as these are the more open of the pegs. I'll be over myself at the weekend fishing and working if anybody wants to pop in On a seperate note with xmas coming up I just wanted to mention our sponsors Erics angling centre who have some fantastic details at the moment from half price terminal tackle to amazing savings on some Nash kit.As you may or may not know Erics will endeavor to beat any genuine quote on any item of fishing tackle.Check out the special offers section here http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/ericsangling/prods/pc3.html And don't forget to mention the lake when ordering you MAY get a little extra discount

| well common sense prevailed and i didn't bother night fishing tonight.I wet a line for an hour or so but didn't get a bite. One fish came out to the lads that fished last night a nice 16lber to steve..well done mate, caught on a pink DNA pop up. I spent a bit of time finalising the plans for repairing the access track which hopefully will be done between xmas and new year, so no more risk of getting stuck in your cars.I pretty much know how we are going to retain the water for the second lake now which will be used in the first year to consolidate the main lake.I also aim to have the toilet up and running by the end of the first week in Jan.The temp dropped to -7 last night and the lake only iced up to peg 9, you could see the steam from the lake in front of 11 and 12 showing how warm the water is coming in from the spring. Therefore i am pretty confident again that the far pegs won't freeze again this winter and once the temp stabilises some good catches will be made.

A couple of lads had sessions on the lake at the early part of the week but no fish were caught.Plenty of fish were seen and a few liners but no catches unfortunately. I'd just like to take this opportunity to wish everybody and their families a really happy xmas

well the xmas period has nearly finished and the lake surprisingly has been quite busy due to us being the only fishery for miles not frozen over.A bonus for us though is that we've had a few new faces grace welhams banks for the first time and some nice compliments were made. The fishing however has been quite tough, lots of fish showing but apart from the 3 caught last tuesday there was nothing caught until last night when 6 fish were banked from 11 and 12.Largest fish was 16lb. The snow has been hampering any of the planned work to the lake but we have managed to get some materials down ready forthe onslaught to begin. I will be keeping on top of the booking calendar again so you can start using that again All the best for 2010

not a lot to add at the moment, we are still not fully frozen but at the time of writing only 11 and 12 are fishable overnight and peg 10 and the long peg are fishable on days. The ice has started to thaw today tho so stalking and 6,7,8,9 will be back into play soon. Respect to the lads that have tried this week, the first time in as long as i remember that a fish hasn't come out of welham in a week!! Obviously i still haven't managed to do any of the planned work yet An event for next week is the lads from crafty carper magazine are coming to do a feature on wednesday lets hope the fish play ball for them Congratulations to steve carrie who's 16lber from 2 weeks ago made the front cover of carp talk this week and also well done Tom whose 7 fish from welham last weekend were probably the only carp caught in the country never mind yorkshire

Well the crafty carper lads fished today and managed 1 fish to 13lb which was a good effort considering there hasn't been a fish out for 10 days, they must be picking up as another lad had one and lost one today also. Kelly reports there are absolutely loads of fish showing and still moving around! forecast looks good for the week ahead so i think we'll lose our crown as the only lake open but it will also mean i can finally get some work done.

As i expected the fishing picked up this weekend with 9 fish banked in total and 3 lost.Fish were caught from all areas of the lake with 11 and 12 having 6 losing 2. peg 7 having 1 and dam wall having 2.The stalkiing area wasn't fished until today with a fish being lost almost immediately to a lad on day session.Biggest out again was 16lb.Congratulations to Tom who i reported on a couple of weeks ago for making it into carp-talk for his efforts. The weather looks good for tomorrow so at last i can work

well i finally managed to get stuck into the work this week. With kelly and dave leggys help we managed to nearly get peg 10 up and running.By nearly i mean the peg is now consolidated and raised,to do this we edged the peg with sandbags and infilled it with god knows how many tonnes of hardcore and clay. Finally we piled aprox a foot of topsoil on top.We just need to let this settle then we will woodchip it and it will be fishable we also improved peg 9 by levelling the bivvy area out, this has improved the peg a lot and now gives people the option to book 8 and 9 or 9 and 10 and fish together from peg 9.(note i wont allow 2 anglers on 9 and an angler on 8 and 10 as well). The fishing has continued to be good with 7 fish out last night and 1 lost.Biggest fish out (and witnessed by me) was 17lb2 rest were low doubles.bait scores were pink pop ups 2, plastic corn 2 and boilies on there own 3. All in all really pleased with how things are going and nice to meet new faces, incidentally the forum membership is now up to 195! it doesn't seem 2 minutes since we broke the 100 barrier
